Dr. Houria Abdelrehem

Dr. Houria Abdelrehem is an Al-Azhar alumna and a distinguished scholar of Qur’anic sciences, Islamic studies, and Arabic education, with over four decades of teaching experience. She has served Muslim communities across the United States for more than 27 years, teaching Qur’an, Tajwīd, Arabic, and foundational Islamic sciences with a focus on nurturing students, families, and women’s learning spaces.
She currently teaches at the Islamic University of Minnesota and Khatam Al-Mursaleen University, instructing undergraduate through doctoral students in Qur’an, Tajwīd, ʿAqīdah, Hadith, Islamic history, and Tafsīr. Dr. Houria holds a PhD in Qur’anic interpretation, multiple master’s degrees in Qur’an, Arabic, and Islamic pedagogy, has completed five of the ten Qirāʾāt, and holds international ijāzāt across the Islamic sciences.
