Course Description:
This course offers a guided reading of selected portions of the Qurʾān with an emphasis on developing direct comprehension of meaning, context, and core themes. Students study Sūrat al-Muddaththir (74) through Sūrat an-Nās (114), along with Sūrat al-Fātiḥah, examining vocabulary, key expressions, and essential linguistic features while situating verses within their revelatory, historical, and thematic contexts. The course cultivates careful engagement with the Qurʾān and provides a foundation for further study in tafsīr and Qurʾānic sciences.

Course Requirements:
This class meets in person, and live attendance is required. Recorded audio will be provided only for excused absences. To obtain credit, students must complete all assigned coursework which may include written assignments, term papers, quizzes, and exams.
No Class Dates: Apr 10 (Spring Break), Jul 3 (Independence Day weekend)

Transcripts: This is a credit-bearing course. Final grades will be permanently recorded on your official student transcript.
Retake Policy: Students are permitted to retake this course in future semesters to improve their recorded grade.
