Course Description:
This course provides a structural introduction to Classical Arabic, focusing on the fundamental building blocks of the language. The curriculum focuses on grammar-translation and sentence analysis. Students will utilize a blend of traditional methodologies to understand how Arabic words are formed and how sentences are constructed.
By the end of the course, students will move from deciphering individual words to translating elementary sentences. The course uses the Madinah curriculum for structural progression, while introducing students to the rigor of classical grammar tables and guided, instructor-led analysis of elementary narrative texts. Upon completion, students will begin to understand simple narratives and be able to recognize aspects of the linguistic architecture of the quran

Course Requirements:
This class meets in person, and live attendance is required. Recorded audio will be provided only for excused absences. To obtain credit, students must complete all assigned coursework which may include written assignments, quizzes, and exams both written and oral.
No Class Dates: Apr 6 & 8 (Spring Break), May 25 (Memorial Day)
Tuition: $450
Transcripts: This is a credit-bearing course. Final grades will be permanently recorded on your official student transcript.
Retake Policy: Students are permitted to retake this course in future semesters to improve their recorded grade.
