The Diploma in Islamic Studies builds directly upon the CIS program, expanding students’ engagement with the core Islamic sciences and further developing their Arabic proficiency. By the end of this program, students are able to read Arabic texts with the aid of a dictionary, enabling them to begin accessing classical scholarship more independently. Coursework in analytical reasoning and theological thought strengthens students’ ability to evaluate ideas critically, engage contemporary questions with clarity, and articulate Islamic beliefs with confidence. Graduates are prepared to contribute meaningfully to their communities by delivering Friday khuṭbahs, teaching and mentoring youth up to the high school level in weekend schools and ḥalaqahs, offering community khaṭīras, and supporting a range of religious educational and community initiatives. The DIS also serves as a strong bridge into advanced seminary study through the GD program.

Note: Completion of the CIF is a prerequisite for the DIS. All CIF credits transfer automatically toward the DIS.
